BEST ROAD TRIP EVER...our journey to Colorado...

Molly and I set sail on Sunday July 20th for the BEST ROAD TRIP EVER! We left from Salt Lake City! As we drove through Wyoming there were some guys who thought we were pretty foxy, so they wrote their phone number on a piece of paper and waved it in their window as we drove by. We started laughing historically! I thought they looked VERY young! So I wrote a note that said "how old are you?" They wrote back "15 & 16!" That really made us bust a gut! Then, they wrote another sign that said "22 & 23"...that was a little better! We wrote one of Molly's friends number because she is a good flirt and we figured she'd play along(Molly sent her a text as a heads up)...we put the sign in the window and sure enough they called. They asked if she was in a Jeep and she said no and they hung up and started driving really slow...poor guys, I really do feel bad that we rejected them.

Molly then dropped me off in Fort Collins at Christina (Crowther) Packard's house, one of my best college roommates! Christina and I stayed up chatting and reminiscing! Christina hasn't changed a bit, she still her wild and charming self! The next day Christina and I ran some errands, went to "Old Town" and then we met up with a bunch of friends from UNC!

Casey and her husband Martin gave me a ride to Denver to meet up with Molly and her friend Jen. We went to the Denver temple the next day, it was awesome!

Stay tunned for the rest of the roadtrip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't fit it all on one post!

Quater of a Century...

I thought, this day would never come! I'm am now officially "old," to some people...but it's all a matter of perspective, right? Right, I'll answer my own question:). I am not old, I am young...I still have so many things I want to see and do and pursue!

On Friday a bunch of my family and friends went to Draper park to an oldies concert and then back to my parents house for cake and ice cream! Yum! In honor of National Ice Cream month, my mom provided, ice cream cones, ice cream sundaes, banana splits, and regular ice cream! You know mom, you're alright, I think I'll keep ya;). PS, Mom could you email some more pictures from this party...I need some with the fam:). I can't believe I forgot my camera!
I wrote a list of 25 things I've learned in 25 years, but I'm fine tuning the last few and I'll just have to add that post later...hopefully I will because it's great (I think anyway;)).

Also, I still have to blog about New York! I am such a slacker...I need to stop doing stuff long enough to write good posts, o'well, that's what life is about right? Experiences...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...
I'm MIA for 10 days now! Yay for road trips!

M. Ed. Master Educator...I am still pinching myself!

Molly, Justin, Me
The 3 Musketeers...we started together and finished together! Molly and Justin are phenomial teachers, I'm so glad that I was able to learn from them and be inspired to become better!

Molly and I became best friends in the midst of this program! Not only did I get a master's degree, I got a best friend out of it! Man what a blast! Sadly she moved to Wisconsin:(. PS, she doesn't love silly poses...I forced her into to this one:).

Molly and Me...the serious pose! Oh and if you look close you can see my shinny red nails...Molly took me to get my nails and toes done for my birthday, thanks Molly, you're awesome!

This is us on our last day working away...actually I'm pretending to work...hehehe! Fooled ya huh!
I keep pinching myself, I just can't believe it...the years just keep flying by. I've decided it's all about enduring and believing even when you think you can't do it anymore or that you're not good enough. Let me tell you, there were some dark nights staying up 'til 4 in the morning for a brief nap...I remember pleading with the Lord to just help me make it through it and to love myself no matter what grade I got:). I also remember thinking getting a Masters was a breeze (hard to believe, huh, even for myself). Those days were very few, they were the days when I had all my readings done, assignments in order and when I felt like I was becoming a master teacher and applying new things in the classroom.

My dad asked me when I was going to get my PhD and I said "NEVER!" I really don't think I will, really. Then I again, I also almost dropped out after my second year of college. My friend Kristy's mom called me and convinced me to stick with it and I'd be grateful, thanks Shirlene!

I believe in being a life-long learner (not necessarily college) but I want to keep taking professional development classes and being the best teacher I can, but also taking fun community classes like art and balloon making, maybe some Spanish classes.

Well there you have it!

New York City- Day 2

Central Park Boat Ride
On the left, I'm changing out of my church clothes in the middle of Central Park!
Cool door the walk to Central Park.
We went to the singles ward in Manhattan! Check out their church!

New York City- Day 1

As promised...here are some pictures of my latest adventure, NEW YORK CITY! I feel so blessed be able to see different parts of the world. I absolutely love meeting new people and seeing how people live their lives around the world. NYC was definitely a foreign country to me...all the hustle and bustle and subway rides...I must say though, the people were extremely nice, friendly and helpful! So here are some pics from the first day...

As you can see, I got red eyes for the red eye!

We decided to go the cheap route and take the Subway from the airport! It was hilarious, you should have seen us with all of our luggage!

And our half mile hike from the Subway Station to our hotel...what a good workout!

About Me

Life as it for Tiffany Finley is quite the revolving door, one activity ends and I’m back on the rebound, looking for something to spice it up! Live it up, I tell you! Although, those who know me well, know my limits of “living it up!” A whirlwind of terrible singing, dancing, playful banter, blunt responses, sweet and endearing but firm and serious remarks to children, speaking/slaughtering accents that I’ve spun from memory, are a just a few of my favorite things….I delight in waking to the sunrise, driving to an incredible place of work, where I am able to express my true self regularly! My students call me "Crazy. ” This is where the song and dance comes into play, whether we are learning about adjectives or writing our names on our papers, I’ve got a song and cheer for it all! I’m passionate about traveling and walking down narrow pathways. In my spare time, I enjoy taking walks in the park…I’ve been known to disappear in the dark of the night, only to be found on the swings. I also love to organize and re-organize, I can never quite get things right. I thoroughly enjoy people watching.
